Who I am

As a born and raised Hoosier, I have always had a hook in me to make the world a better place and to help others...it’s something I was born with.  Growing up as a young boy, I always knew I wanted to be a police officer, and would always play the cop when playing “cops and robbers”.  Public Service is a higher calling and something that is ingrained in me.  As a Retired Federal Special Agent for the Department of Homeland Security and 15+ years of public service, I am running for Constable in Decatur Township to continue my service to the community my family calls home.

From Local Service to Federal Leadership — From Officer to Special Agent

My law enforcement career spans service from the local Sheriff’s Office to the Federal level, providing me with a broad and practical understanding of public safety at every stage.

I served with the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) as both a K9 Officer and later as a Special Agent. During my time as an officer, I became a certified instructor in Less-Lethal Tactics and Use of Force, training fellow officers while also applying those skills in real-world operations. My K9 partner, Max, and I deployed for extended assignments along the Southwest Border, supporting efforts to combat terrorism, illegal immigration, and drug trafficking. Max and I were among the first seven federal K9 teams in the United States certified to detect and seize fentanyl.

While serving with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), I participated in multiple task forces and outreach and recruiting initiatives. I was honored with several recognitions, including Top Shot – Indianapolis, Joint Award Committee (JAC) honors, On-the-Spot Awards, among others.

After becoming a Special Agent, I continued working alongside CBP and partner law enforcement agencies investigating a wide range of criminal activity, including drug smuggling, financial crimes, and cybercrime.

My passion for instruction led me into teaching for higher academia, where I have served for more than seven years as an adjunct instructor in the Homeland Security and Public Safety Program at Ivy Tech Community College. I am currently recognized as Essential Adjunct Faculty by program leadership.

In addition to public service, I am a small family-owned business operator and Co-Founder of Cornerstone Risk and Threat Solutions.
