Know your constable & Duties of the office
The Constable is an elected local law-enforcement official associated with the township’s Small Claims Court.
The constable’s duties are to act as the court’s bailiff, serve legal process (such as summonses, subpoenas, and other papers), enforce and carry out court orders, and maintain the peace.
The constable has statutory police powers to make arrests, keep the peace, and execute warrants or orders issued by the court, and may appoint deputies to help with these responsibilities.
Presence and visibility
Your elected Constable should be active, engaged, and seen throughout the township. I believe residents deserve a Constable who is present in the community, visible at events, accessible to citizens, and responsive to their concerns.
Leadership isn’t about holding a title; it’s about showing up, building trust, and being a consistent, professional presence that people recognize and rely on. That is the standard of service I am committed to bringing to Decatur Township.
